Everybody loves a good villain. In order for a truly great fairy tale to unfold, the protagonist needs a charismatic antagonist to go up against. Disney is arguably one of the best studios out there when it comes to crafting a truly captivating villain. Once you’ve heard Ursula belt out “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, or witnessed Prince Hans drop his charming facade in Frozen, these characters secure their place in your imagination for years to come. I mean, who could forget Scar towering over his hyena henchmen in “Be Prepared” from The Lion King?

The most important aspect of writing a villain is making their objectives clear. Why are they evil and what is it that they want? In The Little Mermaid, Ursula sabotages Ariel because she wants to rule over her father’s kingdom. Randall Boggs wants to become top scarer at Monster’s Inc, and is willing to go to any length to achieve that goal. But just because a villain makes their objectives clear, that doesn’t mean they can’t hide one or two big secrets of their own. And in this video, we’ll be exposing them once and for all!
